Common Questions

Tile Flooring FAQs

What's the most popular tile flooring in Arizona right now?
24x48 wood-look porcelain by a wide margin. It mimics wide-plank hardwood, stays cool underfoot, handles 115° heat, dog claws, and pool-water spills without complaint. We install it in roughly 3 of every 4 tile flooring jobs.
How much does tile flooring installation cost in Phoenix?
$7–$14/sq ft installed depending on tile size, layout, and prep needed. 24x48 large-format runs $9–$12/sq ft. Standard 12x24 runs $7–$10/sq ft. Patterned layouts (herringbone, chevron) add ~$2/sq ft. We quote on the spot during the in-home estimate.
Can you tile over my existing flooring?
Sometimes — depends on subfloor type and condition. Tile-over-tile works on flat, well-bonded ceramic. Tile-over-vinyl/laminate usually doesn't (we remove and prep). Slab-on-grade gets a crack-isolation membrane regardless. We assess during the estimate, no surprises.
How long does a typical tile flooring install take?
Demo + prep: 1–2 days. Tile install: 2–4 days for 1,000–2,000 sq ft. Grout + clean: 1 day. Most whole-downstairs jobs (1,500–2,500 sq ft) finish in a single working week. We move furniture, protect adjacent areas, and clean up daily.
Do you carry samples I can take home?
Yes — we bring 8–12 samples to your home during the estimate so you can see them in your actual light. Our showroom at 15464 W Aster Dr in Surprise carries 200+ tile lines if you'd rather walk the floor in person.
