Frequently Asked Questions
Countertop & remodeling questions, answered straight.
No marketing fluff. Real answers about pricing, timelines, materials, warranties, and service areas across Phoenix, Surprise, and the West Valley.
How much do quartz countertops cost in Arizona?
Installed quartz countertops in Phoenix and the West Valley typically run $55–$95 per square foot, depending on the brand, edge profile, and slab thickness. We give a firm written quote after a free in-home measurement, so the price you sign is the price you pay.
How long does countertop installation take?
From signed estimate to installed countertops is usually 7–14 business days. Template day takes about an hour. Install day for an average kitchen runs 4–6 hours, including removal of the old tops.
Do you provide free estimates?
Yes. In-home estimates across Phoenix, Surprise, Peoria, Glendale, Scottsdale, and the surrounding West Valley are free with no obligation. Phone consultations are also free. We are a service-area contractor and bring samples to you — no public showroom.
What's the difference between quartz and granite?
Quartz is engineered (about 93% natural quartz, 7% resin and pigment), so it's non-porous, never needs sealing, and has consistent patterns. Granite is 100% natural stone — every slab is unique, and it should be sealed once a year. Both are heat- and scratch-resistant when used normally.
Do you remove the old countertops?
Yes. Demo and disposal of the existing countertops is included in our standard installation. We protect cabinets and floors, haul the debris, and leave the kitchen broom-clean.
How long do quartz countertops last?
With normal household use, quartz countertops last 25+ years. Most major brands we install — Caesarstone, MSI, Silestone, Pental, Vicostone — carry a residential lifetime limited warranty.
Do you handle full kitchen and bathroom remodels?
Yes. We're a licensed Arizona ROC contractor (#341113) and self-perform countertops, cabinets, tile, flooring, plumbing reconnection, and electrical for kitchen and bathroom remodels. One crew, one schedule, one warranty.
What areas do you serve?
We serve the entire Phoenix metro: Surprise, Peoria, Sun City, Glendale, Goodyear, Buckeye, Litchfield Park, Avondale, Phoenix, Scottsdale, Paradise Valley, Mesa, Tempe, Chandler, Gilbert, Anthem and surrounding West and East Valley communities.
Do you offer financing?
Yes. We partner with several home-improvement lenders to offer 0% promotional financing for qualified buyers, plus longer-term fixed-rate options. The financing application takes about 5 minutes and decisions are usually instant.
What's your warranty?
Our installation labor carries a 5-year warranty against workmanship defects. The slab itself carries the manufacturer warranty (typically lifetime residential for quartz, 1 year for granite, 10 years for marble installation). We're local — if anything goes wrong, you can reach us.
How soon can you start?
For in-stock material, we can typically template within 3–5 business days of signing and install 5–7 business days after that. Custom or special-order slabs add 1–2 weeks for delivery.
Do you do bathroom vanities?
Yes. Vanity tops, shower thresholds, tub surrounds, and full bathroom remodels are some of our most-requested services. We carry remnant pricing on smaller pieces, which keeps single-vanity jobs affordable.
What brands of quartz and granite do you carry?
We carry MSI, Caesarstone, Silestone, Vicostone, Pental, HanStone, Daltile One Quartz, Q Premium Natural Quartz, and full lines of granite, marble, quartzite, and porcelain slabs. If you've seen a specific slab elsewhere, we can usually source it.
Can I bring my own slab?
Yes. We'll fabricate and install slabs you purchase yourself from any reputable supplier. Pricing is by linear or square foot for fabrication and installation only. Bring the slab to our shop or have it delivered there.
Do you do commercial work?
Yes. Commercial countertops, hospitality vanities, restaurant tabletops, multi-family unit installs, and office build-outs are all part of our commercial division. We work with general contractors and direct with property owners.
What thickness are your countertops?
Standard quartz and granite slabs are 3 cm (about 1¼ inches) — what we install on kitchens. 2 cm (¾ inch) is available for vanities or laminated edge details. Porcelain is available in 6 mm and 12 mm panels for vertical applications.
What edge profiles do you offer?
Standard included edges are eased (square with a slight chamfer) and quarter round. Upgrade edges include bevel, bullnose, half bullnose, ogee, and double waterfall. We'll show you samples on the slab during template so you see exactly what you're getting.
Do you handle plumbing and sink reconnection?
Yes. Disconnecting and reconnecting the kitchen sink, faucet, garbage disposal, and dishwasher water line is included in our standard installation. We also install undermount and farmhouse sinks supplied by us or by you.
Are you licensed and insured in Arizona?
Yes. Surprise Granite is a licensed Arizona Registrar of Contractors company (ROC #341113), fully insured, and bonded. License lookups are available at azroc.gov.
