Pieces roughly 30" × 20" and larger move fastest, because that is the point where a remnant covers a bathroom vanity. Larger offcuts suit bar tops, kitchen islands in smaller homes, laundry counters, fireplace hearths, tabletops and window sills. Both 2cm and 3cm are worth listing, and named stones — a recognisable granite or quartz colour — draw more interest than an unlabelled piece, so include the colour name if you know it.

A remnant is the usable piece left over after a full slab is cut for a kitchen or bathroom. It is the same stone at the same quality — just a smaller piece, which is why remnants cost less per square foot than buying a whole slab.
Most remnants suit a bathroom vanity, a bar top, a laundry counter, a fireplace hearth or a small tabletop. A kitchen island is possible with a large enough piece, but a full kitchen usually needs a whole slab so the veining runs consistently across the run.
